The Nigerian striker, who returned to Galatasaray’s starting lineup after a month out with an ankle injury, scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot to hand the Turkish champions their first win of the campaign.
His cool finish past Alisson Becker secured three vital points and sealed his place as Nigeria’s all-time leading scorer in the Champions League with 10 goals in 18 appearances.

After the final whistle, Osimhen was spotted with Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk as the pair exchanged shirts at the mixed zone.

This shows the respect the two, one a towering defender and Champions League winner, the other a striker who has built a reputation for producing big moments, have for each other.
On the other hand, it is another day in the office for Osimhen, who made a remarkable record against English clubs in European competitions, having scored four goals in five appearances against Premier League sides.
He scored once for Lille against Chelsea in the Champions League, twice against Leicester, and most recently for Galatasaray against Liverpool.

Speaking after the match, Osimhen expressed his ambition with Galatasaray:
