Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface was absent from Werder Bremen's training session today, just two days before the club's Bundesliga game against St. Pauli at Weserstadion, Soccernet.ng reports.
Boniface just joined Werder Bremen from Bayer Leverkusen on transfer deadline day, but the deal has not panned out the way most fans would have thought.
The Super Eagles star has been used as a substitute in Die Werderaner's last three games, despite encomiums from coach Steffen Horst.
However, the German tactician has maintained the Boniface will eventually start once he reaches his best level.
But it appears that his time might not be this weekend. According to Deich Stube, the Super Eagles star was not involved in training on Thursday.

This is due to a knock he suffered during the training session on Wednesday. So he had to take Thursday off as a precautionary measure.
When Will Victor Boniface Return To Action?
According to Deich Stube, Victor Boniface's issue is not a serious one, and he will be available for training on Friday.
Next up for Werder Bremen is a Bundesliga fixture against St. Pauli at home, and Boniface will likely be available to play for his club.
However, due to his latest knock, it his highly unlikely that he will get his first start this weekend. So he will likely appear from the bench.
The Super Eagles star will be hoping that things improve soon and he becomes a regular starter for Werder Bremen. With the Africa Cup of Nations coming up in December, Boniface will look to return to his best so he can earn a Super Eagles call-up from coach Eric Chelle.
