Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray have officially ruled out Victor Osimhen from their UEFA Champions League opener at Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osimhen sustained an ankle injury in Nigeria's 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier game against Rwanda two weeks ago.
The 26-year-old striker was on the receiving end of a nasty tackle from a Rwandan defender, but the referee let it go without a caution.
Osimhen tried to continue the game, but after a few minutes, he had to be subbed off.
Due to his injury, Galatasaray sent a private jet to pick him up before Nigeria's second game against South Africa last week so he could undergo further checks.
Last weekend, Osimhen missed Galatasaray's Turkish Super Lig game at Eyupspor because of the ankle injury.
But coach Orkan Buruk expressed optimism that the Super Eagles star could return to action against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Deutsche Bank Park on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the Turkish champions, Galatasaray revealed their squad for the game at Frankfurt, and Osimhen's name was conspicuously missing.

The Super Eagles star's absence is due to his ankle issue, as Galatasaray want him to be fully fit before he returns to action.
Osimhen's absence is a big blow for Galatasaray, as the Super Eagles marksman has scored three goals in three appearances against Eintracht Frankfurt. So, he is no stranger to scoring against the Bundesliga club.
Nonetheless, the Cimbom have other good options in attack, with Baris Alper Yilmaz, Mauro Icardi, and Leroy Sane all ready to go.
Osimhen will be looking to recover from his injury quickly and return to scoring goals for Galatasaray.
