Super Eagles player Christantus Uche recently sealed a transfer move from LaLiga club Getafe CF to join Crystal Palace…

Crystal Palace’s deadline-day signing, Christantus Uche, has expressed his delight after completing a move from Getafe to Selhurst Park, Soccernet.ng reports.

As cited on Crystal Palace's official site, the Super Eagles' Unity Cup hero described the switch from Spain as a big opportunity in his career.

Per the Guardian, the 22-year-old forward, who joined the club on an initial loan with an obligation to buy for around €20 million, was unveiled on Monday after flying into London to finalise the deal.

Palace secured his services amid competition from several European clubs, including Wolves and Everton, but the Eagles acted quickly as Getafe looked to ease financial and registration pressures by sanctioning his sale.

What Steve Parish Said About Uche

Chairman Steve Parish welcomed the Nigerian international warmly, hailing him as an exciting addition to Oliver Glasner’s side.

“I’m delighted to welcome Christantus to the club – an exciting young talent, who is also a full international. Christantus has already shown his capability during his time in Spain and everyone at the club is looking forward to seeing him thrive in South London,” Parish said.

Uche Excited About Move

Uche, who had been a standout performer for Getafe in La Liga before the move, could not hide his excitement at the prospect of playing Premier League football.

“This moment is unbelievable. I'm very lucky to be here today and this club is a big opportunity for me,” the forward told the club’s official channels.

What Uche Brings to Palace

With Palace aiming to strengthen their attack for the season, Uche is expected to bring energy and a direct goal threat to Glasner’s system.

“He’s a powerful attacking midfielder who can also push up as a forward. What really stands out is his physicality — he’s strong in duels, he can pick a pass and carry the ball at pace.

“In many ways, he brings shades of Yaya Toure (of course, not with the height) with his drive through midfield, while also showing flashes of someone like Sadio Mane in how he can create openings in the final third.

“Crystal Palace fans should expect energy from this player.” Ayomide Oguntimehin told SportsMole UK.

Crystal Palace fans could get their first glimpse of the new signing when the Premier League resumes after the international break.
