Crystal Palace’s new signing, Christantus Uche, has revealed the source of his motivation after making his long-awaited Premier League debut in the goalless draw against Sunderland at Selhurst Park, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 22-year-old forward, who joined Palace in the summer, came off the bench in the 84th minute and immediately injected energy into the Eagles’ attack.
In his short cameo, Uche almost stole the headlines, forcing Sunderland goalkeeper Robin Roefs into two late saves and sparking a penalty appeal when he went down in the box.
Speaking after the match, Uche explained that the support of the Palace fans will inspire him to give his all whenever he steps onto the pitch.
“That’s what motivated me more. For me, I play with fans, I play with everybody. Once the fans trust in me, I will give everything 100 percent,” Uche said.

While Palace were left frustrated after spurning several clear chances through Yeremy Pino, Daichi Kamada, and Jean-Philippe Mateta, Uche’s brief display of attacking intent gave supporters a glimpse of his potential.
Per Sky Sports, the draw extended Palace’s unbeaten run in the Premier League to 10 matches, but the Eagles were left ruing missed opportunities as Roefs produced a string of fine saves to deny them all three points.
Still, Uche’s cameo was one of the bright spots on Saturday. His will to win over the Selhurst Park faithful shows that he could play a crucial role in Oliver Glasner’s plans as the season progresses.
