Super Eagles forward Moses Simon scored his first goal for Paris FC in their 5-2 bashing at Olympique Marseille on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.

After the disappointment of losing their first game of the Ligue 1 season last week, Paris FC returned to league action with a game at Stade Velodrome.

Paris FC enjoyed a lot of the ball in the opening embers of the game, but Marseille were the bigger and more talented side, so they soon grew into the game.

It took the Phocaeans 20 minutes to gain the lead. They were awarded a penalty in the 18th minute after a VAR review, and Mason Greenwood took charge of the responsibility and converted easily.

After scoring, Marseille still dominated the play. They needed just six minutes to double their advantage.

This time, it was Greenwood who turned provider. He sent a teasing cross into the box from a corner kick situation.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who was lurking in the box, got to the ball and poked it into the net to make it 2-0.

However, Marseille's advantage did not last long, as Ilan Kebbal pulled one back for Paris FC in the 28th minute.

Super Eagles star Simon, who looked quite lively, had a good opportunity to level the scoring in the 37th minute after dribbling past two Marseille players in the final third. Unfortunately for him, his effort was saved.

Paris FC put up a tough fight in the first half, but they failed to get the equalizer before the break.

The Blues started the second half strongly. Simon even got a big opportunity to score in in 54th minute, but he fluffed his lines.

Barely three minutes after that, he redeemed himself. The Super Eagles star received a brilliant through pass from Kebbal and deftly sent a low shot past the goalkeeper to make it 2-2.

Despite his goal, Simon was substituted from the game in the 64th minute and was replaced by Jean-Philippe Krasso.

Unfortunately for Paris FC, they fell apart in the last 20 minutes of the game, as Marseille ran riot.

Goals from Aubameyang, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Robinio Vaz ensured that the game ended 5-2 in favour of Roberto De Zerbi's men.

Aubameyang was the best player on the pitch, as he scored a brace for Marseille to lead them to victory.
