Super Eagles and Super Falcons players have taken to social media to mourn late Liverpool striker Diogo Jota and his brother Andre following their tragic death on Thursday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Liverpool confirmed the death of striker, Jota, on Thursday morning. In the report release by the Merseysiders, the late-Portugal star and his brother were involved in a ghastly car accident in the Spanish province of Zamora.

According to the BBC, Jota's Lamborghini had a tyre blowout while trying to overtake another car and left the road. Afterwards, the car caught fire and killed him and his brother.

Jota's loss is a big blow for Liverpool, as the former Liverpool star established himself as a top marksman since joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020.

His death has not only shaken Liverpool, it has also shaken the entire world, as cases of top footballers dying are quite rare.

Since the announcement of  his death, tributes for the late Liverpool man have poured in on social media, and Nigerian players have chipped in.

Super Eagles and Nice star Terem Moffi reposted Jota on his Instagram page and captioned it, “this can't even be real life.”
