Ademola Lookman has been linked to multiple top clubs this summer, and another one has joined

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has emerged as a potential target for former Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan, Soccernet.ng reports.

Lookman's future has been a major issue since last year, due to his brilliant performances for Atalanta.

He has proved to be a massive success, contributing 52 goals and 25 assists in 118 appearances, following his €10.85 million transfer from RB Leipzig in 2022.

Last summer, the 27-year-old attacker was linked with many top side and was close to joining PSG. But Atalanta refused to sell even as the speculations dragged on till the close of the summer transfer market.

Earlier this year, it was made clear that Lookman would leave La Dea this summer, as he has two years left on his contract at the club.

Understand plan remains for Ademola Lookman to LEAVE Atalanta this summer.

The former Everton man is unwilling to sign a contract, and Atalanta would not want to lose a highly rated player like Lookman for free.

This summer, there have been a lot of speculations about the Nigerian's next destination.

He has been linked with sides like Juventus, Napoli, Barcelona, Arsenal, Liverpool, but none of them has made significant progress in acquiring his services.

Meanwhile, another top club has joined the race to land Lookman. According to Sportmediaset, Inter Milan are considering an offer for Lookman.

Inter Milan are looking to rejig following the appointment of Cristian Chivu, and Lookman fits the bill for the type of player they want.

Lookman is valued at €60 million, and this is a fee that they should be able to afford this summer, especially after getting some extra cash from the FIFA Club World Cup.

Why Inter Milan need to seal Ademola Lookman deal quickly

As stated above, Ademola Lookman has a lot of admirers, and one of them might make a move soon as the transfer market heats up.

In a related development, transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Atletico Madrid are seriously interested in Lookman, and have already held preliminary discussions with Atalanta.

Recall that Los Rojiblancos already sold their left-winger Angel Correa to Tigres UANL. As such, they need a replacement.

They also participated in the Club World Cup and have some extra cash to spend. So they can afford to pay Lookman's €60 million release clause.

Lookman is the type of player that coach Diego Simeone would love. He is rapid, tireless, and also does a lot of defensive work. The Super Eagles star is also clinical in front of goal.

Lookman will hope to get his future sorted soon so he can adjust to his new club before the start of the season.
