Super Eagles and Al-Kholood defender, William Troost-Ekong has revealed the Nigerian National team will be hunting for victory against Russia this evening, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 31-year-old missed out on the Unity Cup as Eric Chelle tried to experiment with newer faces in the Super Eagles team as the three-time AFCON winners clinched the title in Brentford.

Ekong is set to captain the Super Eagles against the Russians this evening and has revealed nothing less than a win will be satisfactory for himself and his teammates.

“We're here for business, it's not a tourist trip, as much as we like to enjoy what we see here, we're also looking forward to the game,” the former Watford defender told the NFF in his pre-match conference.

“I don't know much about the Russian team now as there's been some changes since I last saw the team, however, we've watched a lot of videos to see how they play and how they've prepared in their previous friendly games in the last year, so we take it very seriously.

“They have a great record here with the amount of goals they've scored, they're yet to conced a goal and we want to make the difference about that.”

“We'll prepare in our own way, as we're also understanding our playing style under the new coach. We have a lot of new faces in the team and we have to continue to build for our own project which is the AFCON at the end of the year and to qualify for the World Cup.

“I don't know which of my game plans I can say now, but we have a clear idea on what we want to do, so it is another opportunity to work on the coach's playing style and also gel with the new players that we have,” the one-time Greek Champion concluded.
