Former Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has advised Victor Osimhen to leave Napoli this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

This summer have been a lot of speculations that Osimhen will leave Napoli permanently. In fact, the speculations are more of a spillover from last summer when he was linked with a good number of Europe's best clubs, but he did not get his move.

He eventually had to join Galatasaray in a season-long loan after he was frozen out of Napoli's team.

Now, after an excellent campaign with the Lions that saw him contribute 37 goals and eight assists in 41 games, the talks have resumed.

However, it is still almost impossible to point at a particular destination for Victor Osimhen, as aside from Al Hilal, none of his suitors have tabled an offer yet.

Meanwhile, former Super Eagles star Onazi has spoken about the issue. Recall that Onazi was one of the best players for Nigeria in the run-up to their Africa Cup of Nations success in 2013 and he played for Serie A club Lazio for about four years

However, he has urged Osimhen to leave Napoli and prioritize a transfer to the Premier League.

“I would not want Osimhen to return to Napoli,” Onazi said, per Footy Africa.

“Hopefully, he gets a move away from the club and joins another team in Italy or, preferably, in England.

“…before he renewed his current contract, I spoke to him and told him that he had already done what Diego Maradona did—lead Napoli to the Italian title—and the Napoli fans will never forget that.

“I told him to leave because if anything goes south, they won’t remember what he has already done for the club.

“If I were to pick a club for him, I would say Arsenal, as they need a striker and can play to his strengths. He will succeed with them,” he added.

Victor Osimhen can take Arsenal to the next level

Signing Victor Osimhen would be a premium heist for Arsenal due to his talent. The 26-year-old striker is strong, relentless, and proficient at finding the net when he gets the chance.

Arsenal have been targeting the Premier League title for the last three seasons, but they have always fallen short. They have always failed to put on a show when push comes to shove.

Osimhen could be that extra gear. He can turn water to wine when the chips are down for Arsenal. Signing him could land the Gunners their highly sought-after Premier League title.
