Portuguese Primera Liga giants Porto are looking to part ways with Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

Sanusi has been at Porto since 2020, when he joined from fellow Portuguese club Santa Clara in a deal worth €4 million.

Upon his transfer, the 28-year-old defender quickly fit into the team and became and integral member of the team. In the 2021/22 season, he scored the goal that sealed Porto's status as Primera Liga champions.

However, in the last two seasons, Sanusi's career has regressed significantly due to loss of form and injury problems.

Two seasons ago, the 28-year-old left-back missed 42 games for club and country due to a cruciate ligament injury and a muscle injury.

Last season, he featured in only six game throughout the campaign. He even had to play with Porto B on some occasions.

Sanusi is fresh off the FIFA Club World with Porto, where they were knocked out in the group stage after finishing third in Group A.

However, he did not feature in any of Porto's games. And according to abola, Porto are now looking to offload Sanusi this summer.

The Super Eagles star still has two years on his contract at the club. As such, they will look to get a decent fee from his sale. Sanusi is valued at €2 million.

Where will Super Eagles star go after Porto?

Despite his recent struggles at Porto, Sanusi can be a proper player on his own day. He is disciplined and pacy and offers a significant threat in attack.

There was a time when he used to be courted by some Premier League clubs like Leeds United and Brighton, but he did not get the move.

Now, it is highly unlikely that a Premier League club will even look at him. He will likely have to make do with a transfer to a smaller cap for Porto.

Sanusi got his Super Eagles debut in has 2020, and he has 22 caps for the country.
