AC Milan ready Adrien Rabiot plan B, eye Super Eagles midfielder

Seven-time UEFA Champions League winners, AC Milan, are keeping an eye on Super Eagles and Club Brugge midfielder, Raphael Onyedika, although their priority is Adrien Rabiot, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Rossoneri just came off the back of a poor domestic season, finishing in 8th place, which confirmed they wouldn't be participating in any European competitions next season.

In a bid to overhaul their squad for a fresh start, the 19-time Serie A winners hired former Juventus manager, Massimiliano Allegri ahead of next season.

Allegri became the first-ever manager in the Italian top-flight to win five consecutive Scudetti, and is poised to bring glory to Milan.

As per Football Italia, the five-time Coppa Italia winners are trying to give the 57-year-old reinforcements in the transfer market, with the report linking them to Adrien Rabiot, Dusan Vlahovic and Arsenal's Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Vlahovic and Rabiot have worked with Allegri at Juventus, and the Italian manager wants to reunite with familiar faces, but there's a stumbling block.

Adrien Rabiot wants to stay at Olympique Marseille, while Dusan Vlahovic and Oleksandr Zinchenko's salaries are a problem, according to Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio.

Olympique Marseille do not want to sell the French midfielder, and the player is very comfortable at the Orange Velodrome and harbours no intention of leaving.

Onyedika, an affordable replacement for Milan?

As per Milan Reports, the club's Sporting Director, Igli Tare, is scouring the market in search of midfield alternatives, although they already have a verbal agreement with Luka Modric

Several names have been mentioned, both in the Italian league and abroad, most especially Lazio's Matteo Guendouzi and Club Brugge's Raphael Onyedika.

It is believed that Onyedika will cost Milan about €25m to go ahead with the chase for the 24-year-old midfielder, but nothing concrete has surfaced as of yet.

Onyedika is also in huge demand as he has offers from West Ham United in the English Premier League and other clubs in the Spanish La Liga.
