2024/25 English Premier League champions Liverpool have set their sights on Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, Soccernet.ng understands.

The 26-year-old forward continues to attract interest from top European clubs as he prepares for a permanent exit from Napoli.

According to Caught Offside, citing Sky Sports, Arne Slot’s Liverpool are considering a move for the Nigerian star to strengthen their attacking options.

In search of a more clinical forward, Liverpool have identified Osimhen as a potential upgrade. The Nigerian international impressed last season on loan at Galatasaray, scoring an outstanding 37 goals across all competitions.

Osimhen recently added the Süper Lig title and the Turkish Cup to his trophy haul, but he remains hungry for more silverware—particularly the UEFA Champions League.

In an exclusive interview with Soccernet.ng's Lolade Adewuyi in 2023, Osimhen shared his ambitions:

“I’ve won one of the most prestigious titles in world football. And I won it with a club that appreciates the little things you do for them.
Winning the Scudetto is a big one for me. Whatever comes after this will also be big for me — like the Champions League, the League Cup, and all sorts.”

Liverpool, who will compete in the Champions League next season, could provide the Nigerian striker with the platform to chase his continental dreams while also challenging for more domestic honours.

With Chelsea out of the picture following their deal for Liam Delap, Liverpool appear well-positioned to offer Osimhen the Premier League opportunity he has long desired.

While no official bid has been made, the Reds are expected to step up their pursuit of the Nigerian forward this summer.
