EPL transfer on the books? Terem Moffi reveals love for ex-UCL winners

Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has revealed that he supported an English Premier League club when he was a child, Soccernet.ng reports.

Moffi is still looking to return to his best, after missing most of the just-concluded season due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury which he sustained last summer.

The Super Eagles star played just five games last season. But despite his challenges, he still put up one goal.

Meanwhile, Moffi has consistent presence on social media, especially Instagram. On Monday, he had a question and answer session with his followers, and he queried about his favourite club as a child, and Moffi replied with Chelsea.

Chelsea have a solid fan base in Africa and Nigeria, and that is largely due to the number of African players who have played for them, compared to their other successful Premier League counterparts.

Many other Super Eagles stars like Kenneth Omeruo, Mikel Obi, and Victor Osimhen have soft spots for the Londoners.

Can Terem Moffi play for Chelsea?

Right now, it is inconceivable that Terem Moffi would play for Chelsea. He is still looking to reach his previous form.

Before his injury Moffi was quite brilliant. The season before his injury, he contributed 11 goals and two assists in 32 appearances for Nice.

At the time, he seemed like a good option for most top clubs. But now, he would have to prove himself again, as some players never remain the same after suffering long-term injuries.

Pre-season and next season will be crucial for Moffi, as he has to start delivering the goods if he wants to keep his place on the team.
