“The most important thing”- Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade sets target for Cameroon double-header

Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has stated that the team’s target for their upcoming friendly games against Cameroon is to build the team and improve their chemistry, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nigeria's women's team return to action for the first time since November 2024, when they play Cameroon later this week. Thier last game was against France which they lost 2-1.

However, they can return to winning ways against Cameroon. Nonetheless, ahead of the game, captain Ajibade has stated that their major target is build some cohesion and team chemistry.

“Right now, it's just a training camp, so it's basically for us to build the team, just to know who we have in the squad,” Ajibade said.

“But the most important thing is to build the team and make sure that we are preparing ahead of the tournament (WAFCON).”

There are some new names in the squad that will take on Cameroon. And they will be looking to make a big impression under the new coach Justin Madugu.

The Super Falcons will lock horns against Cameroon on Saturday, May 31 before playing the second leg just three days later.

After the games against Cameroon, the Super Falcons have another game lined up against Portugal in June. That is the last game they will play before the Women's Africa Cup of Nations begins in June.
