Former Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, has urged Nigeria and FC Nantes winger, Moses Simon, to remain in France despite interest from Premier League side, Everton, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 29-year-old is enjoying his best season in the French top-flight this term, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists, beating the record of his debut campaign with the Yellow Canaries.

Away from his numbers, Simon's pace and flair has seen him nominated for the Ligue 1 goal of the season and the Marc-Vivien Foe Awards. Additionally, he's drawn interest from Everton alongside several Turkish Super Lïg clubs.

Rohr coached Nigeria to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, was in charge of the Super Eagles team that sealed a bronze medal in the AFCON 2019 tournament, with a squad that included Moses Simon.

The German tactician believes it would be better for the fleet-footed winger to remain in France, rather than moving to England.

“Moses Simon would thrive in France. He’s a very pleasant player to coach, who poses no problems. He’s hardworking and a good listener. When he arrives at a club, he puts himself at the service of the team, because his statistics prove that he’s a footballer who knows how to score and make others score.”

“He’s invaluable to his team’s offensive performance. His winger position won’t make him a player who can score 20 or 25 goals per season, but he’s invaluable to his team’s offensive performance,” the 71-year-old said in quotes revealed by Africa Foot.

Moses Simon has etched his name into FC Nantes’ history books by becoming the club’s all time leading assist provider (42), breaking the record set by the late Emiliano Sala.who died in a tragic air crash on en route to signing for Cardiff City.
