Highly-rated Nigerian teenager Eseosa Sule is open to extending his stay at West Bromwich Albion despite attracting serious interest from clubs across Europe, including Premier League sides Newcastle United, Brentford, and AFC Bournemouth, as well as Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyonnais, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 19-year-old forward, who is eligible to represent either Nigeria or Scotland internationally, is out of contract in June 2025.

While Sule has not yet made a senior appearance for West Brom, his form at youth level has caught the eye.

He has scored 13 goals and contributed five assists in 29 appearances this season for the club’s U21s in Premier League 2 and the Premier League Cup — including a prolific run of nine goals in his last 11 matches.

Sule’s agent, Yusuf Bamba of InMotion Sports Agency, revealed in an interview with Africafoot that the youngster remains focused on West Brom and won’t be rushed into a big move without the right development plan in place.

“Look at his development at West Brom — he has been incredible,” Bamba said. “There’s a chance he could stay if an agreement is reached.

“The interest from big teams is tempting, but we will not work on the spur of the moment. The project must absolutely be the right one for his continued development.”

West Brom are keen to keep hold of the striker and are reportedly in talks to offer him a new deal. However, negotiations have yet to produce an agreement, leaving his future uncertain.

Lyon have reportedly entered the race to sign Sule as they continue to target low-cost talents amid restrictions imposed by French football’s financial regulator, the DNCG.

The French side is said to be impressed by Sule’s blend of pace, power, and sharp finishing — all qualities they believe could strengthen their rebuild.

A long queue of Premier League clubs – Newcastle United, Brentford, and Bournemouth – are also reportedly monitoring the situation around Sule closely.

Sule first rose to prominence at Celtic, where he spent nearly a decade in the academy before moving to West Brom in January 2023.

Since then, he has been directly involved in 30 goals across 67 youth games and signed his first professional contract with the Baggies on his 17th birthday.

Despite not yet being capped by Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Sule’s rising profile could soon see him on the radar of national selectors.

For now, however, the teenager’s focus remains on finishing the season strongly and carefully choosing the next step in his career.
