Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam face a major decision regarding the future of Nigerian-eligible striker Chuba Akpom following the end of his loan spell at French side Lille, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 28-year-old striker returned to Amsterdam after Lille opted not to make his loan move permanent.
Although the former Arsenal forward still has three years left on his contract, insiders suggest Ajax are open to letting him go during the upcoming transfer window.
Aside from that, his need for consistent playing time could also force a move away from Johan Cruyff Arena.
“Ajax is obviously willing to let him go,” a source told Africafoot. “The next few weeks will be crucial for Chuba’s future.”
With interest reportedly brewing from clubs across Europe, Ajax’s decision in the summer could shape Akpom’s next chapter.
