Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye received a Man of the Match award after helping Enyimba defeat Kano Pillars 2-1 in a Nigerian Premier Football League match on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 36-year-old received a cheque of ₦150,000 for his standout performance at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba, where he played a key role in securing three points for the People’s Elephant.
Joseph Atule opened the scoring for Enyimba in the 35th minute, but it was substitute Ideye who stole the spotlight.

The former West Bromwich Albion star replaced Mojeeb Odufeso in the 44th minute of the game and doubled the lead for the hosts in the 48th minute of the second half with a composed finish that proved crucial.

The Nigerian attacker didn’t stop there, as he continued pressing for more goals. A couple of minutes later, Ideye’s attempt hit the crossbar.
Shortly after, the former Göztepe striker scored again, but it was ruled out for offside.

Despite a late scare after Naibe Akpesiri pulled one back for Pillars in the 81st minute, Enyimba held firm to claim a hard-fought 2-1 win in front of their home fans.
After the game, Ideye was named Man of the Match and was presented with a ₦150,000 cheque for his performance.
