Chelsea centre-back, Tosin Adarabioyo, has made a stunning admission about Nigerian food, revealing the dishes he ate growing up made him stronger, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 27-year-old defender joined the Blues from Fulham on a free deal at the start of the season after his contract at  the Craven Cottage ran out.

Tosin has been a regular for Enzo Maresca's side this season, starting 13 games in the league, and nine in the UEFA Conference League, scoring four goals and providing one assist.

Tosin was born in England to Nigerian parents and that meant a bit of the West African culture trickled into the way he was raised, especially with the food.

“We’re very much a Nigerian family and it was a Nigerian upbringing, whether that’s the food or traditionally the way we’ve been brought up, which is a bit different to how it would be here. The food is harder, stuff like pounded yam, stuff that makes you strong,” the former Manchester City defender said on Chelsea's official website.

Tosin relates heavily with the Nigerian culture, and he's yet to play for the England National Team at senior level. Many have tipped the ex-Fulham defender to switch allegiance to the Super Eagles but he's yet to make a choice.
