Galatasaray Vice-President Ibrahim Hatipoglu has revealed that they want Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen to remain at the club beyond this season, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osimhen caused a slight controversy last Friday when he scored for Galatasaray in their 2-0 win over Samsunspor. After the game, the Super Eagles striker commended his teammates and spoke about his love for Galatasaray.
“There are always rumours about me, of course. But I prefer to live in the moment. I am enjoying myself right now. I am enjoying both the club and my life here,” Osimhen said.
“The fans have also been incredibly supportive since the first day, all stakeholders within Galatasaray, everyone has helped me. They have always been there for me, not just me, but also my friends and family.”

However, this comment was taken as a sign that he will leave Galatasaray at the end of the season.
But now, Galatasaray Vice-President Hatipoglu has confirmed that Osimhen's statement was not a parting statement. In fact, the club wants him to stay beyond the expiration of his contract in the summer.
“Osimhen's words do not mean that he will leave, he said that Galatasaray will always be in his heart even if he leaves in the worst case scenario, but he did not say that he would leave. We want him to stay with us,” Hatipoglu said.
Is there a chance that Victor Osimhen will stay at Galatasaray?
Osimhen has been important for Galatasaray this season with 29 goals and six assists in 33 appearances, and this has prompted talks that he will stay at Galatasaray.
However, the deal is highly unlikely due to the finances involved. Also, Osimhen wants to play in a big league, especially the Premier League. Hence, he may refuse all advances from the Turkish champions.
