Super Eagles and KRC Genk striker, Toluwalase Arokodare, has admitted his side are still firmly in the race to win the Belgian Pro League despite dropping points against Royal Antwerp yesterday, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 24-year-old has been crucial to the title ambitions of Thorsten Fink’s side this season, scoring 22 goals and providing seven assists in 40 games across all competitions this season.
Genk’s draw against Antwerp saw them remain second in the league table, a point behind Club Brugge, who have a game in hand. Still, Arokodare is refusing to throw in the towel on his side’s chances of winning the title.

“I can’t really say anything much. All I can say is we’re focused on Sunday. I don’t see the game as two points lost, instead, it’s a point gained. We didn’t lose the game, so it’s an extra point,” the former Amiens forward said in quotes revealed by HLN.
With five games left for Genk to play, Arokodare admitted their only chance of winning the league trophy is by bagging three points in each match they play.
“I’m not focused on the league table, I’m focused on winning every game. When we win games, we win the title, so that’s our goal. We’ve not lost any confidence. We just want to win the remaining games,” Arokodare concluded.
