Super Eagles forward Chidera Ejuke scored the lone goal for Sevilla in their hard-fought 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena, Soccernet.ng reports.
Ejuke has had to play from the bench since he returned from his injury lay-off in January. Coach Garcia Pimienta has preferred Ruben Vargas instead, and the Swiss winger has been decent.
However, Pimienta changed things and handed Ejuke a starting shirt when they traveled to Sociedad on Sunday.

However, Sevilla capitalised on Real Sociedad’s loss of focus. at the start of the first half and scored the opener in the 46th minute. Ejuke was the protagonist as Sevilla went on a quick attack at the beginning of the second half, and he received the ball on the edge of the box and sent a wicked curler past Unai Marrero in Sociedad’s goal to make it 1-0.

Super Eagles’ Ademola Lookman shines for Atalanta in Juventus mauling

Ademola Lookman was heavily involved in Atalanta’s 4-0 maulling of Juventus at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday. It was supposed to be a big game, given both teams’ performance in recent years and their placement on the Serie A table. Going into the game, Juve were placed 4th, with 52 points after 28 games, while Atalanta were third with 55 points.
However, Atalanta made light work of the Old Lady. Mateo Retegui gave La Dea the lead in the 29th minute. But, Juventus just looked off on the night and lacked the extra edge to push Atalanta in the first half.
Gian Pero Gasperini’s men sensed blood in the second half, and they went for the kill. Marten de Roon made it two for Atalanta just seconds into the second half. Davide Zappacosta made it three for the Europa League champions in the 66th minute.

Then, Lookman put the final nail in the coffin in the 77th minute. The Super Eagles forward collected a loose ball in midfield after a mistake from Dusan Vlahovic, ran forward, created space for himself on the edge of the box, and struck a well-placed shot into the net to make it 4-0.
