Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is set to leave South African Premier League club Chippa United at the end of the season, Soccernet.ng reports.
Nwabali’s future has been in the balance since the end of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations last year. The 28-year-old shot-stopper was an unknown figure before that tournament, but he rose to prominence after helping the Super Eagles reach the final.
The Super Eagles star was linked to other big clubs in South Africa like Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, but a move failed to materialize. Nwabali also had links to QPR and Al Ettifaq, but he remained at Chippa United eventually.

However, it now appears that Nwabali’s time at Chippa United is drawing to a halt. According to Kickoff Online, Nwabali will leave the Chilli Boys at the end of the season. But his next destination is still unknown.
Will Chippa United sign another Nigerian goalie after Stanley Nwabali?

The Nigeria Premier Football League is a great hunting ground for Chippa United. Nwabali is not the first Nigerian goalkeeper to play for the Chilli Boys. Even former Nigeria goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi was the former number 1 between 2015 and 2019.
According to Kickoff Online, the Chilli Boys are looking to sign another goalkeeper from West Africa. And currently, there are some decent goalkeepers in the NPFL. The league has good goalkeepers like Kayode Bankole, Mustapha Lawal, and Serge Obassa. Chippa United might just sign one of them as Nwabali’s replacement.
