Malian tactician Eric Chelle has met with Augustine Eguavoen at the venue of the unveiling of the new Super Eagles head coach in Abuja, Soccernet.ng reports.
It would be recalled that the Nigeria Football Federation appointed Eric Chelle as the head coach of the Super Eagles on Tuesday.
The former Mali international arrived in Nigeria on Sunday after terminating his appointment with Algerian club MC Oran.
Augustine Eguavoen had served as the interim head coach of the Super Eagles with the NFF searching for a substantive coach for the national team.
Eguavoen, who took over the role for the fourth time in August, guided Nigeria to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Morocco.
With Chelle’s appointment, however, Eguavoen will return to focus on his responsibilities as the head of the Technical Department of the NFF.
Ahead of Chelle’s unveiling on Monday morning, both men met at the venue and warmed into a cute embrace.
