Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has denied cajoling compatriot Bright Osayi-Samuel to leave Fenerbahce and join him at Galatasaray, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osayi-Samuel’s next move has been one of the hottest topics in Turkish football in recent months. This is as he has refused to sign a contract extension at Fenerbahce, even with his deal set to expire at the end of the season.
The Nigerian defender has been heavily linked with Fenerbahce’s near neighbors Galatasaray. There have also been rumours that Osimhen has been talking to Osayi-Samuel to convince him to join Galatasaray.
However, Osimhen has now denied such rumours. After Galatasaray’s 2-1 win over Goztepe on Saturday, he was queried on the issue, and he revealed that he has never had such conversation with Osayi-Samuel.
“I didn’t have a conversation with him (Osayi-Samuel) about such. He’s my friend, but no,” Osimhen said.

As it stands, Osayi-Samuel will be free to leave Fenerbahce in the summer. There are already speculations that he could move to the Premier League, with Crystal Palace heavily involved.
Now that the 27-year-old defender is in the final six months of his contract, he can start talking to suitors. Hence, in the coming months, Osayi-Samuel’s next destination should be known.
