Boniface has shown no signs of being distracted by the off-field saga, after being recently spotted in training, smiling and focused as he prepares for his return to action.

The 2023-24 Bundesliga Rookie of the Season, has sparked rumours of a split from his long-time girlfriend after the pair unfollowed each other on social media.

Rikke, who had been a prominent figure supporting Boniface throughout Leverkusen’s remarkable double-winning campaign, recently deleted most of their pictures together from her Instagram account.

This development came just months after she celebrated Leverkusen’s Bundesliga and German Cup triumphs with the caption “Proud is an understatement! 2/3 see you next season, B04.”

Boniface played pivotal in Leverkusen’s success last season as a key player during his debut year in Germany. Meanwhile, the Norwegian beauty, was often spotted cheering him on from the stands and sharing glimpses of their relationship on social media, with their bond seemingly growing stronger since their time together at Bodø/Glimt in 2021.

However, speculation about trouble in paradise began after Rikke did not interact with Boniface’s posts during his recent holiday in Lagos, Nigeria, where he celebrated Christmas with family and friends.

Rikke, meanwhile, stayed in Norway for the holidays, and the couple has not been seen publicly together since May 2024, when Rikke joined Boniface on the Bay Arena pitch to celebrate Leverkusen’s Bundesliga title win.

While neither Boniface nor Rikke have addressed their relationship status, many have been left guessing whether the couple has parted ways or simply chosen to keep their lives more private.
