Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye is set to seal a transfer to former Nigeria Premier League champions Enyimba, Soccernet.ng reports.
Ideye was one of the stars of Nigeria’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations campaign, as he featured in all the games and provided one goal and one assist. He formed a great partnership with Emmanuel Emenike in the final third and offered a lot defensively.
The 36-year-old striker featured prominently for many clubs in Europe. Ideye played for West Brom in the Premier League and Malaga in La Liga. He also played for other top European sides like Dynamo Kyiv, Olympiacos, and Goztepe.
Ideye has been without a club since the the expiration of his contract at Kuwaiti club Al-Yarmouk SC.
However, in a new development according to Official54fx, Ideye is now set to join Nigerian club Enyimba in a six-month deal. Enyimba are yet to officially confirm the deal, but Ideye is expected to be announced in the coming days.
The 36-year-old striker joins other Super Eagles players like Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi, who recently joined Kano Pillars.
It will not be Ideye’s first time in the Nigeria Premier Football League. Before moving to Europe in 2008, he also played for Ocean Boys and Bayelsa United.
