“Not just goals and assists”- Galatasaray coach Orkan Buruk reveals what makes Victor Osimhen special

Galatasaray coach Orkan Buruk has stated that Victor Osimhen’s overall contribution to the team is what makes him indispensable, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen has been brilliant for Galatasaray since his season-long loan move during the last summer transfer window. The Nigerian striker has become the main man for the reigning Turkish champions, registering nine goals and five assists in twelve appearances across all competitions.

Despite the controversial circumstances behind his transfer to Galatasaray, Osimhen has looked hungry to score goals and help his side.

The Lions’ coach Orkan Buruk has been impressed with Osimhen’s performance since he joined. However, the Turkish tactician admits that Osimhen’s goal contributions are just a fraction of what he offers the team. Buruk says the 25-year-old’s readiness to help his teammates has been a key ingredient that has helped Galatasaray this season.

“Osimhen works hard, scores, assists. He is in great form, doing very well. He makes important scoring contributions both in Turkey and Europe,” Buruk said, per Skorer.

“His first characteristic is that he plays for the team, more than goals and assists. He makes an effort for the team.

“Trying to make his teammate score the goal he can score is very important and valuable. When we display this mentality as a team, no one can stand in front of Galatasaray.”

Osimhen will be looking to continue his impressive displays to help Galatasaray retain their Super Lig title and win the Europa League at the end of the season.
