Super Eagles of Nigeria have now brought 27 players into camp as they continue preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Soccernet.ng reports.

Following a 2–1 friendly defeat to Egypt on Tuesday, the squad saw the arrival of Moses Simon, adding fresh options in attack, while head coach Eric Chelle monitors the fitness of key stars ahead of the tournament opener.

Despite the narrow loss to Egypt, the Super Eagles remain upbeat, with Chelle having the chance to assess his squad under competitive conditions.

Chidozie Awaziem scored Nigeria’s equaliser in the friendly, briefly halting Egypt’s celebration, but Mostafa Mohamed’s second-half strike secured the Pharaohs’ win and put an end to their nine-year winless run against Nigeria.

Victor Osimhen’s Status

Victor Osimhen remains the notable absentee from camp, with expectations that he will join ahead of Nigeria’s AFCON 2025 opener against Tanzania on Tuesday, December 23.

The forward’s availability will be crucial for Chelle, who is aiming to integrate Osimhen with the squad ahead of their opener.
