Former Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello has stated that Samuel Chukwueze's failure to hit top form is one of the reasons for AC Milan's struggles, Soccernet.ng reports.
Chukwueze joined Serie A giants AC Milan from Villarreal last season, but he has failed to make an impact.
The Nigerian forward registered 37 goals and 31 assists in 207 appearances for the Yellow Submarine, but he was expected to do more in an AC Milan side with better quality. However, the 25-year-old winger has not lived up to the billing.
This season, the Rossoneri have not been doing well, as they sit eighth in the Serie A after 15 games. Among the traditional top clubs in Italy, Milan have the least number of goals scored.
When queried on the possible reasons for Milan's struggles, former Real Madrid boss Fabio Capello stated that Chukwueze's struggles have not helped.
“I think that a tall attacking winger capable of making the difference was essential. In the past, Milan has always pushed more to the left and it would have been useful to balance with a similar player on the right. Unfortunately, Chukwueze has never really clicked and there is no alternative with similar characteristics,” Capello said, per Milan.it.

Due to his shaky performances, Chukwueze has already been linked with an exit. If he does not start performing soon, he may have to leave by next summer.
