Super Eagles stars Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman have been included in the FIFPro Best XI at the CAF Awards, Soccernet.ng reports.
Reigning Africa Player of the Year Osimhen leads the attack of the continent’s finest eleven set up in a 3-4-3 formation.
The man set to dethrone Osimhen as Africa’s football prince, Lookman joins Liverpool forward Mo Salah in the three-man attack.
Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is the preferred goalkeeper in the winning eleven ahead of South Africa’s Ronwen Williams, who had already been named the winner of the best goalie award.
Morocco and Paris Saint Germain’s shining star Achraf Hakimi, Senegal’s Kalidou Koulibaly, and DR Congo’s Chancel Mbemba are the strong men in defence.
In the middle of the park, Ghana and West Ham ace Mohammed Kudus, Morocco’s Sofyan Amrabat, Cote d’Ivoire’s Franck Kessie, and Mali’s Yves Bissouma have no equals on the continent.
Interestingly, four Nigerian internationals made the CAF FIFPro Women’s Best XI of the year 2024.
The quartet of Super Falcons stars Michelle Alozie, Osinachi Ohale, Rasheedat Ajibade and Asisat Oshoala made the continent’s best eleven squad.
Nigeria and Paris FC shot-stopper Chiamaka Nnadozie, however, missed the cut despite reclaiming her crown as the Best Goalkeeper in Africa.
