Market value of Super Eagles talisman, Victor Osimhen, has taken a notable dip following his loan transfer to Galatasaray from Napoli, Soccernet.ng reports.
According to the latest update from Transfermarkt, the Nigeria international’s value in the market now stand at €75 million. Although, the Nigerian claims he is worth more than the value.
This decline from his previous valuation of €100 million has not diminished interest in the Nigerian striker, especially with persistent links to Chelsea and other top European clubs.
Despite the drop, Osimhen remains the most valuable player in the Turkish Super Lig, surpassing competitors like Youssef En-Nesyri and Sofiyan Amrabat, both valued at €22 million.
His recent performances, which include two goals and two assists in just five matches for Galatasaray, have continued to draw attention from suitors eager to bolster their attacking options.
Transfermarkt’s Turkey manager, Gökhan Yağmur, indicated that market valuations are influenced by a variety of factors beyond individual performance.
“Osimhen is an exception in Turkish football,” Gökhan Yagmur said. “The striker only arrived under exceptional circumstances. Similar to Zaniolo back in the day. He wanted to leave Napoli, but the Italians expected €130m. But when top clubs like PSG and Chelsea were unable to meet Napoli’s demands, and Osimhen refused a transfer to Saudi Arabia, Gala made the most of the situation.”
Despite the valuation of Osimhen dropping, the Nigerian attacker’s confidence in his worth remains intact.
“I am worth more than 100 million euros. There are few players like me in the world who have achieved this style and this success. Everything is linked to my characteristics, to the things I do, to my quality. I think I deserve it . I am aware of the contribution I make and what I can do, even in my private life. Do people think differently? Some say 15 million, others say 100-120-150. Everyone has different opinions” he previously said.
With Osimhen’s loan at Galatasaray set to continue, the upcoming transfer window may see an increase in interest from several clubs eager to capitalize on his talents.
