Spanish La Liga club Sevlla could put up Kelechi Iheanacho for sale in the January transfer market to make space for another striker, Soccernet.ng reports.
Iheanacho joined Sevilla in the summer, following the expiration of his contract at Leicester City. The Nigerian spent seven years with the Foxes and showed occasional glimpses of brilliance.
Los Nervionenses signed him with the expectation that he would give them an edge in the final third. However, he has struggled to cut it at the club since he joined.
Iheanacho’s minutes have been seriously limited, as he has registered five appearances but has failed to produce any goal involvement.
Sevilla have also been struggling for goals, as they have scored just ten goals in their ten La Liga games.
Due to Iheanacho’s struggles, the club is now looking at other attacking talents. According to Ficherio, Sevilla want to sign a new striker in January.
In order to do this, they are looking at selling Iheanacho in January to free up funds and create some space on their wage bill.
Nonetheless, Iheanacho has a chance to ensure it does not happen. He has to start producing results for the club soon. He might have the excuse of being new to Spanish football this season, but he has to prove his worth if he want to remain at Sevilla.
