Turkish giants Galatasaray have officially secured Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen on a four-month loan from Napoli, Soccernet.ng reports.
The deal, which has now been finalised, marks a significant move in Osimhen’s career following a turbulent summer transfer window that saw his anticipated move away from the Diego Maradona Stadium fall through.
With the unresolved tension from the failed transfer leading to his exclusion from Napoli’s first-team squad, Osimhen’s future had been uncertain.
However, Galatasaray stepped in, offering the Super Eagles star a temporary solution to keep him match-fit and active.
As confirmed by Nigerian journalist, Onyebuchi Onokala, medicals are currently ongoing as part of the final steps to complete the transfer.
Initially set for four months, this short-term arrangement could be extended for a full season depending on Osimhen’s performance and the club’s needs.
Earlier reports suggest that Chelsea is pushing hard to bring Osimhen to Stamford Bridge in January, with both sides eager to conclude negotiations.
Interestingly, another Premier League club reportedly sought a signed agreement ensuring Osimhen’s availability in January, but this request was declined.
For now, Osimhen remains focused on his immediate future with Galatasaray, respecting the interest from Chelsea and others while aiming to maintain his form during this pivotal period in his career.
