“Shut your mouth” – Jackson hits back at Mikel Obi after stellar Chelsea vs Wolves performance

Chelsea forward Nicholas Jackson has hit back at former Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi following his impressive display in the Blues’ 6-2 away victory against Wolverhampton, Soccernet.ng reports.

Earlier, the former Chelsea midfielder had expressed disappointment with Jackson after Chelsea’s first defeat of the 2024-25 English Premier League season against Manchester City.

The ex-Nigeria international questioned Jackson’s ability to deliver in attack, suggesting that Chelsea’s current striker options were lacking.

“You need a striker who knows how to find the back of the net, and that’s something we’re missing,” Obi stated. “I know I often criticise him [Nicholas Jackson], and it may come across as disrespect, but that’s not my intention.”

In Chelsea’s clash against Wolves, Jackson opened the scoring and assisted Cole Palmer in the 45th minute, showcasing his attacking prowess to Enzo Maresca.

Following his standout performance, Jackson responded to Obi’s remarks with a fiery post on social media: “Mikel Obi, shut your mouth, don’t talk shit. We are killing ourselves in Africa.”

Chelsea will next face Swiss club Servette before continuing their English Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace the following weekend.

Jackson will be eager to showcase his value and build on his recent performance as the team prepares for these upcoming fixtures.
