Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been excluded from Napoli’s squad for their pre-season game against Laliga side Girona, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osimhen’s future has been one of the major talking points in this summer’s transfer market. The 25-year-old has been brilliant for Napoli in the past three seasons, and his stock has increased significantly subsequently.
Last summer, some top clubs in Europe showed interest in signing him, but Napoli held on strong and even got Osimhen to sign a new contract.
However, this summer it has become increasingly clear that the Super Eagles star will leave Napoli. PSG, Arsenal, and Chelsea have showed interest in signing Osimhen, but the price tag has been the issue.
Two weeks ago, there were reports that Osimhen was keen on joining PSG and even agreed on personal terms with the French club. But the talks have cooled off because PSG are yet to cut a deal with Napoli.
Meanwhile, Osimhen has been training with the team, but he has been completely excluded from the team’s pre-season. And on Saturday, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Osimhen had been excluded from Napoli’s squad for their pre-season game against Girona.
Osimhen’s constant exclusion from Napoli’s team just gives more light to talks that he will leave the club this summer. But in a few weeks, everything will become clearer.
