Ademola Lookman: Transfer guru provides update on Arsenal, Liverpool links to Nigeria & Atalanta man

Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman is not close to joining any of Arsenal and Liverpool despite rumours linking him to the two Premier League giants, Soccernet.ng reports.

Lookman returned to Atalanta training on Thursday after missing the club’s first league game of the season with a transfer to Paris Saint Germain thought to be in an advanced stage.

However, interest in Lookman from the French giants has cooled in recent times despite the Nigeria international agreeing personal terms with the Ligue 1 champions.

With PSG delaying tabling an official bid to Atalanta for Lookman, speculations emerged that Premier League giants Liverpool and Arsenal are considering securing the Super Eagles attacker before the transfer deadline.

Arsenal’s offer reportedly involves a player plus cash deal for Lookman who Atalanta value around €60 million.

However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his Playback channel, has claimed Atalanta have not received any offers from any Premier League sides for Lookman.

Romano said, “Atalanta sources guarantee they have not received any bid from Arsenal or Liverpool, despite the rumours we had in the last 24 hours. The club that spoke to the agents of Ademola Lookman has been PSG.”

Despite the transfer uncertainty surrounding Lookman, the former Everton and Fulham star is in line to feature for Atalanta when the club trades tackles with Torino this weekend.

The reigning UEFA Europa League champions secured a convincing 4-0 away victory over Lecce on matchday one.
