Werder Bremen’s Justin Njinmah reveals ideal condition that’ll make him play for Nigeria

Former Borussia Dortmund forward, Justin Njinmah, has revealed the ideal situation that'll allow him to play for Nigeria, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 23-year-old was born in Hamburg, Germany, and started his career with 2. Bundesliga side, Holstien Kiel. He moved to Werder Bremen a few years later before joining Borussia Dortmund, but he never made a senior team appearance for Die Schwarzgelben.

The versatile forward made a return to the Weser Stadion last summer, scoring six goals and providing two assists in 25 Bundesliga games, as the Die Werderaner narrowly missed out on the spots for European competitions this season.

Speaking in an interview with Kicker, Njinmah revealed that one of his personal goals is to play for the German national team, citing his disappointment at not getting into Julian Naglesmann's EURO 2024 squad.

“It was relatively clear to me that I had no chance. Nevertheless, I know that they have themed me on the screen. I know they watched me several times. There has not been an exchange with someone from the German team yet, but of course, it is a big goal of mine, which I hope can achieve. Marvin Ducksch has shown that performance can be rewarded and that sometimes one or two extraordinarily good seasons are enough to be noticed,” the 23-year-old said in quotes revealed by Fussball Transfers.

Via his family, Njinmah is eligible to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, and he revealed he was motivated to be on the list of players being looked at by the NFF. However, he maintained he'd only play for the three-time AFCON winners if he gets an invite to the national team.

“I know I'm being looked at by Nigeria of course, but I can only decide when I get an invitation. Then I really would have to weigh up exactly,” the versatile forward concluded.

As per Get Football Germany, Wolves and Everton are currently monitoring Njinmah, and are weighing up a possible bid for the Nigeria-eligible forward.
