Nigeria international winger Moses Simon has joined FC Nantes in their preseason preparations for the 2024/25 campaign, Soccernet.ng reports.
Simon and Nantes are getting ready for the new Ligue 1 campaign in their training camp in Zell Am See, Austria.
In a video posted on the club’s official YouTube account, the camera was trained on Simon and teammate Matthis Abline as they went through training drills and team bonding sessions inside the Nantes camp.
It is a beautiful sight to behold Simon with the ball at his feet on a football pitch following his horrendous end to the 2023/24 season.
The Super Eagles winger suffered a horrific broken leg on March 30th that ended his season prematurely, ensuring he did not feature again for the Canaries.
Until his injury, Simon featured in 22 league games for Nantes, scoring three goals and providing five assists. Despite his layoff, Simon still finished among the top 20 assist providers in the French elite division.
Nantes eventually finished in the 14th position on the Ligue 1 table, four points above the relegation zone.
A key player for Nigeria, Simon was also in the Super Eagles squad that won a silver medal at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 29-year-old attacker started five of Nigeria’s seven games, appeared as a substitute in the other two, and assisted the winning goal against Angola in the quarterfinals.
