Victor Osimhen and Napoli are still not in agreement on his transfer destination for this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.
Both Osimhen and Napoli agree that the Nigerian striker can leave if their transfer demands are met.
Many top European clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, and PSG, are interested in Osimhen. However, none of them are willing to pay the €130 million release clause in his contract.
PSG came close with an offer of €200 million for Osimhen and Georgian playmaker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. But Napoli, under new manager Antonio Conte, has made it clear that Kvaratskhelia is not for sale.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli are reportedly ready to meet Napoli’s financial demands for Osimhen. This is where the disagreement arises.
According to Sky Sports per TransferDeadline Day, Napoli prefer to sell Osimhen to Saudi Arabia, but Osimhen wants to stay in Europe and play Champions League football next season. Napoli did not qualify for the Champions League after finishing outside the top four in Serie A last season.
As a result, Osimhen has rejected offers from the Saudi Arabian league, despite their lucrative financial packages. He is determined to remain in Europe and play in the Champions League.
Osimhen has rejoined Napoli for pre-season training.
PSG remain the most likely destination for him this summer. There are reports that if PSG sell France striker Randal Kolo Muani, it could trigger Osimhen’s move to the French club.
Although Osimhen dreams of playing in the English Premier League, he is also open to returning to Ligue 1 with PSG.
He previously played in Ligue 1 with Lille, where he was named the best African player in the league before his record transfer to Napoli.
