Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli have entered the race for Ademola Lookman’s services after Al Ittihad ended their pursuit of the Super Eagles forward, Soccernet.ng reports.
Lookman had an impressive campaign with Atalanta last season, registering 17 goals and ten assists in 45 appearances. His performances were key in Atalanta’s Europa League win, their second-place finish in the Copa Italia, and their fourth-place finish in the Serie A.
Following his impressive showing at Atalanta, Lookman has become the subject of numerous transfer talks. The 26-year-old attacker has been linked with Manchester United, Bayer Munich, Al Ittihad and Chelsea this summer. However, nothing concrete has emerged from the rumours.
Recall that earlier on, Soccernet.ng reported that Al Ittihad had submitted an offer for the Super Eagles striker. However, they failed to reach an agreement with Atalanta.
But in a new development per Rudy Galetti, Al Ittihad have put an end to their talks because they just completed the signing of Moussa Diaby from Aston Villa.
However, their counterparts Al Ahli have entered the mix, as they have added Lookman to their list if transfer targets this summer.
The former Leicester City man could cost up to €70 million, a fee that Al Ahli are capable of paying. However, it is unlikely that Lookman would choose to move to Saudi Arabia if he has solid offers from England.
