Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad are on the verge of signing Ademola Lookman in a deal that would make him the highest-paid Nigerian footballer, surpassing Victor Osimhen, Soccernet.ng reports
Lookman, who played a key role in Atalanta Bergamo’s Europa League triumph last season, is a top target for Al Ittihad.
Despite interest from European giants like Manchester United, Juventus, and Bayern Munich, it seems the Saudis are closest to securing the 26-year-old’s signature.
According to transfer expert Rudy Galetti, Lookman has verbally agreed to join Al Ittihad following their second offer.

The Saudi Pro League side has reportedly offered Lookman a salary of $15 million per season (around €13.89 million), which would surpass Osimhen’s current earnings of €12.82 million with Napoli.
Lookman’s current salary at Atalanta is €2.3 million per year.
If the deal goes through, it would represent a significant financial upgrade for the Super Eagles forward.
However, Al Ittihad still need to reach an agreement with Atalanta, who value Lookman at approximately €70 million.
The Saudi club’s initial offer of $35 million is well below this valuation, and negotiations are ongoing.
Lookman’s market value is listed at €40 million on Transfermarkt. Last season, he was a standout performer for Atalanta, playing 45 matches across all competitions and contributing 17 goals and 10 assists.
While the deal is not finalised, the potential transfer of Lookman to Al Ittihad highlights the growing appeal of the Saudi Pro League, which continues to attract top talent from around the world with lucrative offers.
