The last may not have been heard of Kelechi Iheanacho’s transfer this summer as there may yet be room for one more twist in the episode, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Super Eagles striker became a free agent this summer after his contract with Leicester City expired.
Iheanacho was believed to be keen on staying in England where he has spent his entire professional career since joining Manchester City’s academy.
Interestingly, he was not short of suitors as he had been linked with a move to Aston Villa, Ipswich, and West Ham among others.
However, none of those moves materialised and over the weekend, reports surfaced that Iheanacho was close to sealing a move to Sevilla.
The 27-year-old forward had reportedly agreed personal terms with the record UEFA Europa League winners and had been scheduled for medical tests this week before inking his contract.
It may not be a done deal yet for Sevilla, though, as German Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuttgart are in contact with Iheanacho to offer him improved terms, according to Vamos Sevilla.
Stuttgart are in the market for a new striker following the transfer of their main man Serhou Guirassy to Borussia Dortmund.
Unlike Sevilla, Stuttgart will be playing in the UEFA Champions League next season and the Germans hioe that could tempt Iheanacho to choose Germany as his next home over Spain.
