English Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur, are keeping tabs on Napoli and Super Eagles striker, Victor James Osimhen, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 25-year-old striker scored 15 goals and provided three assists in 22 starts for Napoli in the league last season, off the back of a successful 2022/2023 season where he won the Golden Boot and lifted the Serie A title with the Italian club.
The former LOSC Lille forward agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain, but a transfer could not materialize as the Parisians were unable to pay his release clause. Chelsea and Arsenal are also interested in the services of the Nigerian forward and are on the lookout for a possible reduction in Napoli's asking price.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur coach, Ange Postecoglu, is obsessed with signing a new striker this season and is keeping an eye out for Victor Osimhen.
The North-London side are prepared to include their players in a deal for the Nigerian, as they're keen to fix their goalscoring problems up-front.
Son Heung-Min was the team's top scorer in the league last year with 17 goals, highlighting the clinical presence Spurs missed upfront following Harry Kane's bumper move to Bayern Munich last summer.
The Napoli striker is a proven A-list striker and goalscorer who has shown his quality at the highest level, and he's believed to be a proper solution for Tottenham. He'll also relieve the ageing Son of the goalscoring duties after the South Korean turned 32 earlier this month.
Outside of Osimhen, Tottenham have been linked with a move for Lille striker, Jonathan David and it is believed that he would be allowed to leave for a fee as low as around £20 million.
Since joining Napoli from Lille in 2020 Osimhen has established himself as one of the world’s best strikers, scoring an impressive 76 goals in 133 appearances.
