Transfer: Saudi First Division club snap up ex-Lobi Stars striker Anthony Okpotu

Saudi First Division club, Al-Adalah have signed former Lobi Stars striker, Anthony Okpotu on a free transfer after his contract with Al-Ain expired, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 30-year-old put pen to paper with Al-Adalah after Al-Ain narrowly missed out on qualification to the Saudi Pro League. On the other hand, Al-Adalah were fifth and stood no chance.

Okpotu however did enjoy a successful individual season despite the club's downturn, as he scored 17 goals and provided an assist in 27 games for the Garden City club, making him the third-highest goal scorer in the league.

The former Lobi Stars player was the recipient of the NPFL Golden Boot in the 2016/2017 season when he returned to the local soil after a spell in Al-Ittihad. He now has set his sights on helping Al-Adalah achieve promotion.

The 30-year-old is vastly experienced, having played for clubs across several countries, including Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi (Morocco), Klubi I Futbollit Laçi (Albania), US Monastir (Morocco), Qatar SC, and El Masry (Egypt) before joining Al Ain in Saudi Arabia last year.

Okpotu is the only player in the Nigeria Professional Football League to have scored three hat-tricks in a season.
