Osimhen-Finidi saga seen as transferred aggression by Italian media

Napoli forward Victor Osimhen’s recent online rant about Finidi George has been perceived by Italian media as transferred aggression, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian attacker has been heavily linked with a move away from Napoli, with Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain showing interest in signing the Super Eagles star.

However, his English Premier League dream is facing setbacks. Chelsea has reportedly pulled out due to concerns over his injury record, and Arsenal is unable to meet his €120 million release clause.

This leaves Paris Saint-Germain and Saudi Arabian clubs as his remaining options, which has reportedly frustrated him.

Italian media suggest that Osimhen’s outburst against the Super Eagles coach, who accused him of faking an injury, is an expression of his transfer frustrations.

Despite this, Osimhen’s comments indicate that his reaction was specifically to the injury accusation rather than his transfer situation.

At 25, the former LOSC Lille player, named CAF Best Player Of The Year for 2023 and the 8th Best Player in the World, still has many years ahead to make his mark in Europe and making a move to a Saudi club seems to be out of his plans.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian who is currently working tirelessly to regain fitness has expressed his desire to leave Napoli but may stay for another season as there is no better suitor as it stands.

I only want to ask Finidi former supper eagles coach why he left the popular players like Ola Aina, Troost Ekong, and refused to use Boniface who was to replace Osimhen…I feel he planned to fail by not using these crupt of players unless they were injured. Please leave Osimhen alone i am even more angry than he is. Osimhen loves Supper Eagles and wants them to win all the time. if we must loose it shouldn’t be Benin. If you do the right things you will get the right results.
