Super Falcons star, Michelle Alozie recently revealed how she became a part of the Nigerian national women’s team, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian defender made her international debut with the Super Falcons at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023.

In a recent interview, Alozie made an interesting revelation about how she joined the Super Falcons.

According to her, the team had been in the United States for the “She Believes Cup” and was on the verge of withdrawing due to visa issues and shortage of players.

In an effort to avoid withdrawal, head coach Randy Waldrum reached out to several Nigerian-American footballers playing in the US and Alozie just happened to be in Houston at the time.

The Houston Dash player displayed her impressive skills at her first training session and was picked to play in the next game. Alozie has been playing with the Super Falcons since that day.

The 25-year-old athlete described connecting with the team, and eventually becoming a member of the squad as a plan ordained by God.

Alozie is expected to be part of the Super Falcons squad that will represent Nigeria in the women’s football category at the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics.
