The Super Eagles star was a constant fixture in Nigeria’s midfield during the AFCON, but he has returned to his club
Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka has returned to Brentford following the conclusion of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Soccernet.ng reports.
Onyeka was a constant fixture in Nigeria’s midfield throughout the competition, and he was quite impressive in his defensive role. Unfortunately, he could not help the Super Eagles to victory in the final against Cote d’Ivoire.
Following the conclusion of the AFCON, the 26-year-old midfielder has returned to his Premier League side Brentford, and he was treated to a fine welcome by his teammates and other club staff.
Also, Neal Maupay asked him about Alex Iwobi, who has been on the end of insults and abuses from fans following his performance in the AFCON final.

Brentford’s next game is against Liverpool at the Community Stadium on Saturday, but it is unlikely that Onyeka will make the squad because he just resumed training at the club.
However, he would likely be in Brentford’s squad for the game against Manchester on February 20. The Bees currently sit 14th in the Premier League with 25 points from 23 games.
Onyeka had 16 Premier League appearances for Brentford before the AFCON. He will be looking to help his side finish the season on a strong note.
