NFF list 30 Falconets to represent Nigeria at the 13th African Games

Nigeria has competed at every edition of the African Games since its debut in 1965, and her athletes have won a total of 1326 medals.

The Nigeria Football Federation on Monday, February 12th, released a list of 30 players picked for the country’s participation in the 13th edition of the African Games that will be held in Ghana, Soccernet.ng reports.

The released list includes thirty Falconets who  ply their footballing trade in Nigeria. Twenty-nine of them already play for Professional sides, and one plays for the prestigious Asisat Oshoala academy.

The Falconets won a gold medal in the previous edition hosted in Rabat, Morrocco where the current African goalkeeper of the year, Chiamaka Nnadozie made an open spectacle of her theatrics in the penalty shoot-out as Nigeria defeated Cameroon in the finals.

The Nigerian ladies have also won a gold medal in the football competition in the 2003 and the 2007 edition of The African Games.

The selected players are scheduled to arrive at the training camp in Abuja today to prepare for the games that will be held from 8th March to 23rd March, 2024.

The list in full;

Falconets’ Head Coach, Chris Musa Danjuma, who led the Nigerian ladies to the 2022 World Cup quarter-finals, was also in charge as they secured a ticket to this year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup finals in Colombia.

The Falconets will square up to Morocco, Senegal and Cameroon in their group clash in Ghana as they look to win another gold medal.
